GASGAS

In the dynamic and adrenaline-fueled sphere of off-road racing and motorcycle production, few monikers bear the weight of tradition, innovation, and superior performance as GASGAS. This iconic brand didn't merely stumble upon its stature, but rather it was meticulously sculpted from an unyielding passion for motorcycle engineering, trials, and a fervent commitment to the exhilarating world of off-road racing. Over decades of competition, relentless innovation, and overcoming industry obstacles, GASGAS has manifested its tenacity and engineering prowess in a legacy that speaks volumes of its supremacy in the field.

The GASGAS saga starts in 1973 when Narcìs Casas and Josep Pibernat, initially operating a Bultaco motorcycle franchise, pivoted towards producing their motorcycles in 1985 after a series of manufacturer shutdowns. The name GASGAS – an expression to "gas it" or accelerate, emerged, ironically causing some confusion outside Spain due to its repetition. However, the brand's consistent success in the off-road circuit quickly outshone this initial confusion, and it wasn't long before their mantra "Gas Gas = Fast Fast" was ringing true across the globe.

Despite its interesting naming story, GASGAS' real reputation was forged in the fires of competition. Their ability to attract talent was apparent when they successfully roped in multiple world trials champion Jordi Tarrés in 1993, leading to a triumphant streak of championships. Subsequently, with the likes of Adam Raga and Paul Edmondson, the brand dominated the World Enduro Championship and the Trial Indoor and Outdoor World Championships.

The GASGAS legacy continues, with the brand showing no signs of slowing down. Their riders have conquered the Monster Energy Supercross season and the challenging terrains of the Dakar Rally, truly embodying the spirit of their mantra.

While the brand's EC and MC models have found a global customer base, GASGAS' success can also be attributed to their understanding of specific market needs. Models like the XC and DE catered to the US off-road market, and the fuel-injected FSE and FSR four-stroke enduro bikes mirrored the popular EC models.

A distinguishing feature of GASGAS was its color-coding system representing engine displacement, which existed until 2009. After this, the company standardized the color red for all displacements and models, only to later opt for black with red and white accents in 2010.

The TXT models, tailored for trials riding, showcase GASGAS’s commitment to developing specialized motorcycles. Their unique color-coding system is a nod to the brand’s roots and its constant drive for innovation.

GASGAS has created an indomitable presence in the world of off-road racing, setting new standards in motorcycle engineering and performance.
